If you receive an error while activating Google Authenticator, please refer to the guide below.
-
Please use the latest version of the Google Authenticator App.
-
Please make sure your phone time is in line with the network time. And the error is no more than 30 seconds.
-
Please confirm you have verified the Google Authenticator and you can get the code.
-
Please close your Google Authenticator and try it again at intervals. Don't ask too many requests at the same time.
-
Delete the account you added in the Google Authenticator app and try to verify it again.
The most common cause for Google OTP errors is that the time on your device is not synced correctly. To make sure that you have the correct time in your Google Authenticator app, follow the instructions for your operating system below.
[Android]
-
Go to the Main Menu on the Google Authenticator app
-
Select Settings
-
Select Time correction for codes
-
Select Sync now
On the next screen, the app will confirm that the time has been synced, and you should now be able to use your verification codes to sign in.
[iOS]
-
Go to the Settings – this will be your phone’s system settings, not the Authenticator app settings.
-
Select General
-
Select Date & Time
-
Enable Set Automatically
-
If it’s already enabled, disable it, wait a few seconds and re-enable
If your device has already performed a time sync and Google Authenticator keeps getting errors, you will need to contact our support team for further assistance.
